Perpetuum mobile: XCVII
Perpetuum Mobile XCVII - 100 x 70 cm. Mezzotint print on Hahnemuhle Copperplate 230g/m2 paper. Limited edition of 1/30, signed and numbered by Tomasz Winiarski.
Perpetuum mobile refers to the idea of eternal movement, in which certain ideas arise from previous ones, while creating new ones. In my work one can trace the development of certain motives, formal problems and solutions over several years. You can also see how some of the elements come back to give birth to new works.
Winiarski has always believed that, unlike the dominant trend in contemporary art, the image will be defended. "I take this into account in my work - references to real elements can be found in my prints, which allows the recipient to self-interpret. I believe that my add-ons may limit only the viewer."
