Turkish Act I
"Act of pattern" with focus on the female body. Delicate and soft forms of the models and the game of shadows and light shows parts of women’s figures covered in patterned materials, placed in colorful backgrounds. Nameless bodies make the scene more mysterious. The paintings seem almost abstract- eyes get lost in the multitude of lines, colors and shapes.
The ornaments used are mainly from Middle East. Fascinated by their colors, harmony and rhythm. The aim is to combine two different cultures: European (female nude) and Islamic (ornaments). “Act of pattern” is a reflection of experiences- travels and traditions.
Printed with pigmented "archival ink" on Hahnemühle Museum Etching paper, 310 g, 100% cotton.
