In the series "Journeys Left Behind" Rafael Guerrero Céspedes’ watercolor drawings showcases a masterful command of technique, blending artistic intuition with meticulous layering. Inspired during his travels, he paints en plein air or from memory, allowing the atmosphere of each place to seep into his work. Using wet-on-wet techniques for soft transitions and glazing for depth, he builds transparent layers—some so subtle they’re almost imperceptible.
Rafael Guerrero Céspedes i a graduate in Master of Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona.
Guerrero works with strong references to opposing cultures in everyday life. In his works, displacement and the migration is a common element. Where he joins reality and the belonging together.
